CCPIT - Advanced Export Potential Workshop

ITC’s Trade and Market Intelligence section (TMI) produces and disseminates online market analysis tools, conducts market research and trade analysis and delivers capacity-building programmes for the business community, trade and investment support institutions and policymakers in developing countries.
In order to assist developing countries in identifying promising products for inclusion into export promotion activities, TMI has developed a methodology to assess export potential. This methodology evaluates export performance, the target market's demand and tariff conditions as well as bilateral links between the exporting country and target market to provide a unique ranking of untapped opportunities. The related online tool, the Export Potential Map, turns this economic analysis into practical trade information including customizable and shareable visualizations.
This workshop, organized in collaboration with China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), will strengthen the export analysis capacity of participants by providing advanced training on the export potential methodology. The training covers export potential theory and applied analysis in detail and provides an overview of several related methodologies.
The workshop will be delivered virtually with half-day sessions spread over the course of two weeks. Participants will complete individual exercises and work in groups to conduct an in-depth export potential analysis to be presented during the last day of the training.
